Edger Rutatola currently holds a Master's degree in Information and Communication Sciences and Engineering from the Nelson Mandela African Institute of Science and Technology (NM-AIST), and a BSc. in Information and Communication Technology with Management from Mzumbe University.
He joined the Computing Science Department in 2015 as a Tutorial Assistant, and since then he has participated in various teaching, research, and consultancy activities. His research interests include E-health, Information Systems design and development, and general applications of ICTs for development.
Moreover, Edger has participated in formulation and implementation of several projects. Currently, he leads Project 2: “Enhancing Information Services: Contents and Infrastructure” of the “Self-Steering Sustainable Social Innovations through Training and (e-)Research (4SITe)” programme. He has also been a member of the Government of Tanzania Hospital Management Information System (GoT-HoMIS) project team since 2014.
Prior to joining Mzumbe University as an academic staff, he also worked as a systems administrator at Kibaha Education Centre (On contract basis).
